DR. EDWARD E. LOWE, M.D
CLASS OF 1956
INDUCTED 1997
Ed Lowe says growing up in Covert was a positive experience. He was Valedictorian of the class of 1956, graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1959 and a Medical Degree in 1963.
From 1967 through 1969, while in the United States Air Force, Captain Edward Lowe served as a physician at the military hospital in the Phillipines. Upon returning to the States, he was certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. In 1977 Ed was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 1980, he was appointed Professor of Clinical Anesthesia and Clinical Pediatrics at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and continues in that position. From 1993 to the present he is Director of Anesthesia Education at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Dr. Lowe attributes the successes in his life to the support and encouragement received from parents, relatives, friends, teachers, ministers and the community. He continues, to this very day, to live by the values instilled in him as a youngster, always give 110% when 100% is all that is asked.
In 1992, Ed received a heart transplant. He feels he has been truly blessed to live to see his first grandson, Nathan. Ed is married to Alice Glaze Lowe and has two adult children, Shannon and Cedric.
