Dear Bulldog Families,

Today we all are shocked and deeply saddened by yesterday's tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.  Our hearts go out to the families, educators, students, and the entire community during this difficult time.

We know that senseless and painful events such as this can lead to anxiety and fear felt by communities across the nation- Covert included. The safety and security of our students and staff are of the utmost importance, and we will continue to be diligent in keeping everyone safe.  This includes requiring permission to enter the building via our camera/intercom system, limiting access, locking doors, and other precautions.

We encourage students, staff, and parents to continue to be alert.  Do not hesitate to report any suspicious activity or concerns.  Please contact your student’s teacher, office staff, or administration, or use OK2SAYOK2SAY is a confidential reporting system that offers many related resources to students and families.

Covert Public Schools continues to partner with our local law enforcement agencies, Van Buren County emergency services, and the Covert Township to ensure we have a current and viable emergency operations plan.

Support services are available to those that may be struggling with this event.  Please let us know if you feel that your child would benefit from additional support.  In addition, below is a list of linked resources you may find helpful:
We recommend honest conversations with your student, including reassurance that many people are working together to keep them safe.  We encourage you to consider limiting their exposure to news coverage.
